The Essence of Freedom- WIP

I just uploaded a WIP of one of my newer pieces for  Sexbeard the Death Pirate.

Essence of Freedom colors

Line art inked with micron pens, colored in photoshop.

The coloring on Sexbeard is finished, but I would like to expand this piece more into a cool poster type thing. So enjoy it for what it is now, but I’d like to spend some more time attempting to make it badass before I call it completed.

Desert Rover: Beta Test

I just uploaded Desert Rover: Beta Test to my gallery.

Rover 3: Beta Test

I drew this sketch one morning in my hotel room at AWA last year…then I inked and colored it a month or two ago. This version of it for the web is heavily scaled down; I colored this at 600dpi at about 6460 x 7700 in case I want to ever make a large poster of this.

PS-tan Montage

I just finished a new piece.

PS-tan

This is a character I designed based off of photoshop- my contribution to the OS-tan meme.

I decided to portray PS-tan as a mercenary sort of character because of how expensive the software is and how efficient it is. You gotta give ‘em credit- there is a lot of fantastic open source design software out there, but nothing yet has come to match the speed, power and usability of Photoshop. That’s why Adobe can charge such a high price for their product. It is among the best design apps on the market, if not the best. After all, the intent of the software is for photo manipulation- yet look at how many people use it for everything except photos. Since it’s such a versatile program with a multitude of useful features, I decided it should be portrayed as a versatile, well equipped assassin, fearlessly striking down the competition.

And that’s my little nugget of fun. This was a monster because it’s more like 3 pieces in one. The left and middle piece were inked line art colored in Photoshop. The right piece and the bust were pencil sketches painted with wet edge brushes in Photoshop.

Later on I’ll post a larger version. I may post a couple of source files as well.

Partially Brand New Beginning

I think that about sums it up- a brand new site for Test Tube. I finally buckled down to whip up something that would look the way I want it to look and be easy for me to manage. I hope you enjoy.
